I started early - Took my Dog

I started Early -- Took my Dog --
And visited the Sea --
The Mermaids in the Basement
Came out to look at me --

And Frigates -- in the Upper Floor
Extended Hempen Hands --
Presuming Me to be a Mouse --
Aground -- upon the Sands --

But no Man moved Me -- till the Tide
Went past my simple Shoe --
And past my Apron -- and my Belt --
And past my Bodice -- too --

And made as He would eat me up --
As wholly as a Dew
Upon a Dandelion's Sleeve --
And then -- I started -- too --

And He -- He followed -- close behind --
I felt his Silver Heel
Upon my Ankle -- Then my Shoes
Would overflow with Pearl --

Until We met the Solid Town --
No One He seemed to know --
And bowing -- with a Mighty look --
At me -- The Sea withdrew --

Kip & Miss Kitty

Check out my new little amigurumi friends.

The little blue bird is called Kip, and was made for Zoé (Julie M's daughter).

And the cute pink kittycat is called Miss Kitty.

I quickly took a picture of the two of them together in my knitting bag, before they got separated from each other. (before I went to Julie's to give Kip a new home)

Happy Moments

Happy moments during my trip to the Haute Provence:

  • breathing through my stomach (=center) again, instead of through my throat.

  • dancing, roling, flapping with my arms, jumping, flying, shaking, falling

  • not looking at my watch or my cellphone for 10 days

  • reading books

  • laying in the shade of a big tree, on the pebbles of a cute little stream

  • checking out the butt-cheeks of handsome Brittish cyclists and feeling very hot

  • being estimated 26 years while turning 32 tomorrow

  • lavender, lavender, lavender

  • siska

Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval

Ferdinand Cheval was a postman in the little town of Hauterives and one day, when tripping over a rock, he decided to build his dream: an amazing and imaginary castle. Each day, while doing his mail delivery, he gathered rockes that he used to build this strange construction (24m long by 16m wide!). Cheval blended all diffrent religions with animals and plants. Every single cm² is detailed and made by one man only! It is one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen. "Où le songe devient réalité".

Haute Provence

I just came back from an amazing trip to the Haute Provence, France.

First I stayed at Sainte-Croix in a beautiful Monastery and attended a contemporary dance workshop with the organisation Wisper. (http://www.wisper.be/) In the morning we would dance from 9h30 untill 12h00. Then we had lunch and spare time to enjoy the beautiful area. And in the evening we would dance another 2 hours. It was exhausting, my musscles hurted so bad, but I loved it so much! It was a great way to deconnect and feel again instead of thinking.

The group was great too and was made out of 4 workshops: initiation of contemporary dance, drawing & painting for beginners, from impro to scene & scetches. And at the end of the week, all 4 groups did a showcase. It was very interesting to see what everybody had made.

After this amazing week, Siska and I went to check out the cyclists at le Mont Ventoux. We visited the beautiful town of Grignan and Nyons. And we finished our trip with Avignon.
On our way back to Belgium we stoped at the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval (see next message).

Yummie

Thank you Martha for the inspiring picture of "Party Animals". It made a big smile on my face

Breathtaking

the lights go on
the lights go off
when things don't feel right
I lie down like a tired dog
licking his wounds in the shade

when I feel alive
I try to immagine a careless life
a scenic world where the sunsets are all
breathtaking

Happy Weekend

My happy moments:

  • taking a nap on the beach, in the sun, with my feet in the sand

  • having my dog Paula laying on my belly

  • shopping with my mum and my grandmother

  • going to the hairdresser and having 10cm cut off

  • wearing my pretty dress with dragonflies and feeling like a princess
